About Betty S. Vaughn
After a lengthy banking career in Atlanta, Betty Vaughn retired...and discovered her artistic side.
Her muse presented itself through the disguise of her eight-year-old granddaughter, Sally Burns.
The budding artists have taken art classes together at Chastain Art Center in Atlanta and paint together as schedules permit. During the summer of 2006, they traveled to Sundance, Utah, to indulge their shared passion for artistic expression.
Betty grew up in Metter, Georgia. She and her husband moved to McIntosh County in 2002. She enjoys working in oil and acrylic to capture local floral and fauna. Betty likes painting on location (as a member of Georgia Plein Society) and from her studio at Harris Neck, Georgia.
Betty is dedicated to promoting the arts and previously served as president of the McIntosh Art Association. Today, Betty's art can be seen on display at the
Old Jail Art Center in Darien, Georgia, and at the Goodyear Cottage at Jekyll Island.
